Join us for an intensive 3-day Geriatric Psychiatry course which is tailor-made to elevate your expertise and ignite your passion for this field. A recurrent theme throughout the 2024 course is the connection between ageing and psychiatric disorders.

• We will provide an in-depth review of selected topics (among others biological ageing, physical exercise, suicide, psychosis), guided case discussions and will update you with the latest high-quality research relevant for clinical practice.

• We are thrilled to announce that the brightest minds in the field have already confirmed their participation as instructors, among which:

• Prof. Brenda Penninx (Amsterdam UMC, Netherlands), expert in biological ageing and affective disorders.
• Prof. Davy Vancampfort (KU Leuven, Belgium), expert in physical exercise and mental health.
• Prof. Margda Waern (University of Gothenburg, Sweden), expert in suicide during the life course.
• Prof. Rob Howard (UCL Institute of Mental Health, London, UK), expert in late-life psychosis.

• A main role is given to international experts. Each expert will have 90 minutes to fill in with a lecture as well as a meet-the-expert session. Interaction and discussion will be facilitated due to the small-scale of the course (up to 40 participants) and availability of the experts during the breaks.

• The course is accommodated by the KU Leuven at the University Residential Area Groot Begijnhof. The Groot Begijnhof is a pedestrian and cobble stoned charming ‘village’ within the city of Leuven. The Begijnhof is a web of houses, small streets and grass patches, which contributes to a charming and relaxed atmosphere.
